Unselfish gesture lost in turf war

A column written by Brian Dickerson on a lawsuit filed against the city of Detroit over wheel chair lifts in city buses, mentioned Wayne State board of governor Richard Bernstein. Dickerson asserts that Bernstein, a Farmington Hills attorney, is being unfairly vilified as a suburban outsider by Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick. Bernstein, who is blind, filed the lawsuit on behalf of wheelchair using Detroiters.
